Effective from 1 May 2009, the Heritage Environmental Management Programme has become a Strategic Partner to internationally recognised and respected Green Globe International Inc. This status not only vindicates the high standards that Heritage has maintained for the past ten years, but it now provides our existing and future members with the option of co-certification with Green Globe, and the opportunity to gain greater international exposure and representation through Green Globe, while remaining members of the Heritage Environmental Rating Programme.

In addition to this, the Heritage Environmental Management Company has been appointed the accredited auditor for Green Globe in the sub-Saharan Africa and Indian Ocean region.  This recognises Heritage as the only auditors for Green Globe properties in the region and it extends our reach and representation across the Continent.

248 criteria make up the standards and are applied based on the type of business, geograph­ical area as well as local factors. Green Globe criteria are always updated to the highest international stan­dard.
